Ground Effect

UPDATE: Nov. 2011, if you want to read unlimited articles on the NY Times Online for free, contact me and if I know you then I’ll tell you how! Fun!

Wingsuit BASE jumping may or may not be a passing fad. With tens of millions of people all over the world having already seen wingsuit videos online, one would think that eventually the public would tire of this fringe garbage and move on to other more interesting ways to spend two minutes of their time in front of a computer. Personally, I’m getting pretty tired of watching wingsuit videos myself, so nowadays I only watch my own. The rest just suck, and if you’re wondering what I think of your wingsuit video, then the answer is: I probably haven’t seen it and wouldn’t like it anyway, unless I’m in it.

In the comments section of my latest best video ever, some clown remarked that his own video had over 2 million views. Well, this one (click) has 321 million views and this one (click) just passed 24.5 million views. Suck on that.

Trust me when I say that our time is better spent watching baby animals sneeze and fart, or cats attacking and wounding animal control officers (click), or clumsy people crashing. Old and faithful, these videos are the most reliable sources of entertainment that I know of and, as far as I’m concerned, the most valuable content offered by the internet today. Forums are completely out of style, facebook is stupid and boring, and now we have to pay to read the New York Times online edition. Civilization is, undoubtedly, in steep decline.
